LGA Confirm Areas Raised with the MHCLG as a Result of Coronavirus

The LGA have confirmed the following areas are currently be discussed with the MCHLG in response to coronavirus:- -Postponement of AGM’s -Postponement of by-elections -Postponement of Education Appeals -Postponement of Police and Crime Panels -Postponement of referendum- Neighbourhood Plans -6 months rule (member failures to attend council meetings) -Inclusion of local government lawyers in Key worker list -GDPR - supports use of the electoral register personal data sharing to map the location of over-70s in order to provide essential support without risk of prosecution. -LEPs-relaxation of requirements on decision-making in assurance frameworks to cope with potentially diminishing numbers of LEP members well enough to participate in decision making and to expand the ability of LEP officers to make decisions. -Quoracy of approved virtual meetings -Holding of virtual planning committee meetings
